The game with a really long name, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere Of Influence – Ascension, finally got a new trailer detailing the battle system, and how maintaining conquered lands are important during the warring states of Sengoku Japan. Nobunaga's Ambition is set to come out next month for PC en PS4.
Unlike most current Koei Tecmo games, this one does not sport the help of Omega Force. Additionally, this means that playing Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere Of Influence – Ascension will not play out like a 3rd-person Musou game, but is closer to the likes of the classic Romantiek van de drie koninkrijken games from the SNES and Sega Genesis era.
The gameplay shown below channels those times when Koei Tecmo was once known as just Koei. This means there will be lots of strategic positioning and properly thought out sieges to take control of enemy operations, which is pretty interesting.
In Nobunaga's Ambition players will now have the opportunity to advance from a retainer to a Daimyō, which opens up a world of possibilities through ranks and conquering the land.
Other features like allying, joining other clans, creating your own clan, claiming independence and leaving your own mark during “the chaotic” period of Japanese history will be evident in this game.
Although the battles are quite zoomed-in and are over head like in classic siege games, other battles also join in like Naval battles and full on Siege warfare that are zoomed-out. As one would expect during the tides of war, skirmishes to repel strategic blockades on oceans aren’t shy of happening, as well as setting up your own blockades to fend off any intruders.
The latest trailer showing the ranking system, land dividing and how to take care of seized locations, as well as other features, can all be seen below thanks to Koei Tecmo'S kanaal.
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere Of Influence – Ascension is set to come out over in North America on October 25th, and Europe on October 28th, for PS4 and PC.
