Assassin's Creed zal in 2019 niet uitkomen

Ubisoft has confirmed that the Assassin's Creed series will take a break next year, so there won’t be a new game in the series in 2019.

Gamespot caught word from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, who explained…

“On Assassin’s, we had a game [in 2017] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin’s next year. It’s just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you’re not going to have a fully fledged one.”

Asked whether or not there would be a spin-off game introduced next year (presumably similar to the Assassin's Creed Chronicles titles or maybe a similar game in a separate universe) and Guillemot explained that there will just be DLC for Assassin's Creed: Odyssey instead, saying…

So far nothing about Assassin's Creed: Odyssey looks standout. The combat is still a very disjointed bastardization of the Soulsborne games, and the focus this time around seems to be on turning Assassin's Creed into a miniature Mass Effect style game, with a large focus being on the romance options for the two lead characters.

It’s a dangerous road to take, sacrificing the core elements of what made Assassin's Creed popular in order to pursue BioWare’s former audience.

Given that the game no longer has a focus on stealth and parkour, and seems to have abandoned its own unique combat system for a janky version of Donkere zielen, I’ve already been abandoned as a consumer since Assassin's Creed: Origins. Nevertheless, you can look for the alternate history fantasy game to launch this fall for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
